Topic 1: Report Cards

Length: Full Day

Description/Goal: Teachers are engaged in preparing reports to communicate student learning to students and guardians for semester one.

Topic 2:  Secretary Training 

Length: ½ day

Participating: All secretaries

Entity Hosting: PVNCCDSB

Presenter(s)/Facilitator(s): Central Staff 

Description/Goal: The Records and Information Management Department will be leading professional development with respect to implementing the Board’s Classification and Retention Schedule and Ontario Student Record management. The IT department will be training staff for the preparation of Ontario School Information System reporting. The Finance Department will be providing guidance on budgets and school banking. 

Topic 3:  Behaviour Management Systems Training

Length: Full day

Participating: Special Education Support Staff

Description/Goal:  Training focuses on the identification and prevention of behaviour that can escalate into crisis and intervention techniques that will enable staff to effectively defuse escalating behaviour.

Topic 4:  Prepare, Prevent, Respond

Length: Half day

Description/Goal: The purpose is to provide information that is designed to equip staff for their important role in supporting a student experiencing thoughts of suicide.

Topic 5:  Carousels: Data Tracking, Use of Visuals, Augmentative Alternative Communication Device Review, Prompting and Prompt Dependency, Transitions Planning

Length: Half day
